Not your Grandma’s Cardigan-Fall Trends 2021

For most, after Labor Day is a signal that Fall is right around the corner. You start to feel the temperatures drop in the morning, all the best holiday drinks are back on the block, and a lot of people are already pulling out the pumpkins. But if you’re anything like me then you are pulling out the sweaters, not just any sweater though, cardigans! A good cardigan is a Fall must have.🍁

There’s nothing like pulling out your favorite cardigans once the weather permits. But the great thing about this Fall is that unlike the normal grandma/grandpa style cardigans we all may have become accustomed to this knitwear style has definitely shaken things up! The array of styles are updated, fun, and in abundance this year.

I recently upgraded from my normal knitwear and put a little spin on it. The new cardigan is everywhere and has animal prints, zip details, bold colors, fringe hemlines and so much more. Below you can find some cool upgraded cardigan options to get you started.

Animal Prints

Animal Prints will always be one of my FAVS. Zipper Detail

The zipper is such a fun new way to update a cardigan. It gives a new twist to a classic style and adds some fun to it. Zippers on knitwear has been around the block before but it’s joint the party again this Fall. So if you were considering adding just one new cardigan to your wardrobe for Fall then this is it. Printed 

Outside of Animal Prints there are a ton of prints out there to play with. From plaids, to florals, to logos your options are limitless. But you must remember to have fun with it and when selecting a cardigan print know that the bolder the print the better!

Longline Cardigans

This style of cardigan is the go to for most, including me. In the thick of Fall you can definitely catch me layering a longline cardigan over everything from a dress, to jeans and my favorite graphic tee. Therefore, I would be remised if I didn’t link a few of my top finds in this style. Don’t worry though, I made sure to include a little razzle dazzle in this category as well by adding some updated styles that include a fringe hem.
